The Condemnation Against Us In Christ!
King James Version (KJV)
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(Are you in Christ Jesus and walking in the Spirit? Or, are you still walking in the flesh?
What does the word of God tell us about
1) walking in the Spirit, and
2) 2) walking in the flesh?
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
(The word of God tells us here that there are two laws. 1) The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, and 2) the law of sin and death.
We were born into the law of sin and death, but when were we born into the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus? In the book of Galatians chapter 5, it tells us what the flesh “is” and what it will do, and what the Spirit “is” and what it will do.
Galatians 5:13-21 (The works of the flesh)
(13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: “and these are “contrary” the one to the other”: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
(So it tells us here that all these things are; the works of the flesh., and if your doing these things and have not repented, you shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. Why are the works of the flesh against the Spirit of God? It is because the works of the flesh are against what God”IS”! The next part of this scripture tells us what the fruits of the Spirit will produce in us if we walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-25 (The fruit of the Spirit)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s “have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts”.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also “walk in the Spirit”.)
Following on in Romans chapter 8 it tells us more about the flesh, and the Spirit, and why God had to send Jesus Christ into the world, that reason was to show us how to do what He did in His life, and die for our sins.)
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, “condemned sin in the flesh”:
By Jesus doing what He did, He condemned sin in us. Our Adam nature can never keep the law because it’s in out nature, just like a pig will always be a pig. He will always love to roll in the mud and eat everything you feed him. This is the way we are in out old nature. We love the world that is controlled by Satan, but by Jesus coming into the world and showing us there is a better way, He took back our birth right that was lost by Adam in the Garden of Eden.)
Romans 8 Con’t
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
(Before we accepted Jesus as our Saviour, if you will look back, we did not have a God relationship, but a devil relationship that fed our lusts and pride. WE were not walking by the golden rule, but if we got hurt, we hurt back. Our mind was in the gutter most of the time and we enjoyed being around people who loved to party. Need I say more? This life style, after a while got us to the place where God called us to Jesus Christ and His love for us. When we accepted Jesus as our Saviour, we were a new person who did not think the same way that we thought before, but we wanted to do right. At this point a lot of people turn back again into the life they had before because they had no teacher to teach them about their Old nature, and the New man who walks in the Spirit. All this imformation is in your Bible. In John 1:12 & 13 it tells us;
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
But as many as receive Him, gave He power “to BECOME SONS OF GOD!
This was just the start of what God wants you to do. You must “take off” the Old Man of sin, and “put-on” the new man who is created after out Father God! In Holiness and righteousness.
Romans 8:6 (Con’t)
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (To be carnally minded is to be”not spiritual”. We become carnal minded by the world teaching us about the things of the world that are contrary to the Word of God. God’s plan works by faith, or believing what God has said in His Word. When we try to work problems out in our own understanding, it will not work.
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is death!
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: (Enmity- To be at war with God! for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. (Note: Spirit of God!) Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(We have been told by the world that all you have to do is accept Jesus as your Savior and your saved. This is a lie from Satan. There is a Babe stage, Child’s stage, young man stage, and a Father stage. God says that we must finish our course, we must become without sin as Jesus Christ.
Jesus told us in Matthew 5:48
48 Be ye therefore perfect, (Without sin!) even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
2 Timothy 3:16 & 17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
1 John 2:3-6
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.)
1 John 3:9
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, (Why?) because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Romans 8: Con’t
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,( That is the Spirit of God The Father!) he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also “quicken” (Make alive!) your mortal bodies (How?) by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
(I was make subject to vanity, not willingly! But God made me subject to vanity in hope that I would make it through this!)
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
(The whole creation is waiting to be delivered from the curse of Moses law!)
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (This is Jesus making intercession for us as we pray in tongues. Praying the perfect will of God!)
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, ( Why?)because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 “And this is the condemnation”, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, (Why?) because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
